Africa Scout Region

Scouting in Africa is among the leading youth movements in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over 4.5 million young people and more than 620,000 adult volunteers are registered in the region. The Africa Scout Region has among the highest number of Member Organizations in the world. It supports 40 National Scout Organizations, and is also home to seven potential members.

The project responds to food crises facing countries in Africa by equipping the youth with agricultural skills to produce their own food.

Unguvu, which means “strength through unity” in Swahili, strengthens existing Africa-Europe partnerships and creates new ones. It is the first multilateral project of its kind between the African and European Scout Regions.
